Tsunami Warning and Submarine Structure Detection Application
The HiFi-DAS device is designed based on the TGD-OFDR (Time-Gated Optical Frequency Domain Reflectometry) solution proposed by the optical fiber sensing research team at the State Key Laboratory of Advanced Optical Communication Systems and Networks, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Relying on innovative optical path structure and digital signal processing technology, it comprehensively enhances core performance metrics such as sensing distance (up to 100 kilometers per fiber core), spatial resolution (1 meter), strain sensitivity, and response bandwidth (0.001 Hz to 100 kHz), enabling the sensing of sounds from all things.
1. Tsunami Warning
Tsunamis are caused by factors such as underwater earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, coastal landslides, and submarine landslides. The acoustic waves generated by their oscillations can travel in water at speeds of up to 1500 meters per second, which is 10 times faster than the occurrence of tsunamis themselves. These oscillatory waves propagate across the ocean surface in不断扩大expanding circles, covering vast distances. Using submarine cables as front-end sensors can effectively detect these oscillatory waves, providing valuable time for evacuation and rescue efforts.
